Maxwell’s Nursery: An Update

I didn’t think that it would be such a process to update Max’s nursery, but it is definitely taking a little bit longer than I was thinking. I have always had a pretty difficult time making final decisions with home decor. I really haven’t been able to figure out why, but for some reason it is such an investment for me (literally and mentally) to purchase and decorate our home. I feel like I changed my mind often or I am not pleased with the things I’ve picked out. So, I shouldn’t be surprised that it is any different with Max’s room.

In my post about our plans, where I discuss the style and vibe we’re going for, I have mentioned the minimal vibe I’ve been loving. Well, I still very much am into that style, but I really wanted to add a little more personalization as well as kid friendly art. A friend of mine shared how much she remembered spending time in her room as a little kid and loved her room… her space. And that really made me happy! I want to create something like that for Max.

I purchased some art from Society 6 and Fine Little Day, which I am SO excited to receive. I’ve heard of society 6, but never personally shopped on their site. They have SO many incredible pieces, designed from artists, and it made me happy to find some really fun prints. Fine Little Day was a shop I was introduced to from Paper & Stitch. She decorated her child’s nursery with some of their art, and I was just really impressed with the kid friendly pieces that they had available, and I couldn’t resist.

I am so close to get everything we need to finish his room, and I am so excited to put all the pieces together and share here. In the meantime, I’ll be plotting what we will be (attempting) to do with our living room and how we can make that happen next on our budget. Below I put together some toddler friendly posters & prints that I found, and loved!
